Access to higher education is an aspect of diversity that is often forgotten.  Differences between students whose parents attended college and those who have not are evident in the lack of parental experience with the college application process, how these students prepare for college both personally and academically, why they choose to attend college, and in their personal experiences and overall personality traits.

Regis University partners with several local and national organizations who serve first generation and/or low income students and their families.  Through these partnerships, Regis University is able to provide academic and financial support .  Students in these programs are required to take a one-credit seminar designed to help in the transition-to-college process for first generation students.
