Erika Hollis, VP and General Counsel at Regis University

Erika Moore Hollis, Vice President and General Counsel

What makes Regis unique?
Today, Regis is on the cutting edge of the City of Denver’s northwest development, which provides us with unique opportunities for both service and entrepreneurship. The Rocky Mountain region has a long tradition of reinvention, entrepreneurship and independence. Regis embodies these western strengths and makes them even better by teaching the practices of discernment and reflection to all community members so that our next idea can be better than our last.

What does Jesuit education mean to you?
Jesuit institutions demand robust debate and value service to others above all else – those values inform how I try to live my life.

Besides work, what are you passionate about?
I love to read the Sunday New York Times with a big cup of coffee – ideally the Week in Review and Style sections – but with two rambunctious little girls that is a rare treat. Exercising keeps me going - running, dancing or pilates. I also really enjoy my work with two education nonprofits. Read12 provides summer reading books to K-2 students in Title I schools. The Africa School Assistance Project builds schools in Tanzania and focuses on secondary education for girls.

Erika Moore Hollis joined Regis as vice president and general counsel in July 2013. She works on all University legal matters, including real estate, employment, transactions, compliance and risk management.

Hollis holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa as well as an MBA from University of Colorado - Denver. She joined the Colorado Bar in 1997. Prior to joining Regis, Hollis served entrepreneurs and higher education clients in a private practice that included litigation and transactional work at Jackson Kelly PLLC.

In the community, Hollis currently serves on the board of directors for Africa School Assistance Project and Read12. She previously served as a member of the board for the Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Hollis also is a member of the 2012 Leadership Denver class.

Hollis resides in Denver with her husband and two young daughters.
