Army Tuition Assistance Program Suspended
The Secretary of the Army has approved the suspension of Tuition Assistance effective 5 p.m. (Eastern Time) on March 8, 2013. Soldiers will no longer be permitted to submit new requests for Tuition Assistance. However, Soldiers currently enrolled in courses approved for Tuition Assistance are not affected, and will be allowed to complete current course enrollment(s).
This change in the Army Tuition Assistance program applies to all Soldiers, including the Army National Guard and Army Reserves. The Army understands the impacts of this decision and will re-evaluate the decision if the budgetary situation improves.
In the interim, Soldiers can continue to access their GI Bill benefits, if applicable, either the Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB) or the Post 9/11 GI Bill, or use other funding sources (i.e. grants, scholarships, or Army National Guard Soldiers using state Tuition Assistance where available).
Soldier! s should contact their local education centers with questions and to get updates. Updated information will also be posted to www.goarmyed.com.
Tuition Assistance Benefits
As an active member of the United States Armed forces, you are eligible for Tuition Assistance (TA). Your TA benefits are the following:
Undergraduate: Reduced tuition of $315.00 per credit hour
Graduate: 10% tuition discount
Listed below are the steps involved in the TA process at Regis University.
- Complete the online “Military Preferred Tuition Form” and click submit, or fax to (303) 964 5536.
- Register for classes at Regis.
- Request TA.
- TA is approved.
- Print the approved document and forward to Regis University. TAs can be e-mailed as PDF documents to aserrano@regis.edu or faxed to (303) 964-5418.
- When approved, TA forms are received at Regis and your student account is notated detailing the TA benefits. This prevents any past due charges or registration restrictions.
- A TA is required for each semester detailing course registration. An approved TA works in lieu of payment; therefore, forms must be received in this office by tuition due date.
- The sponsor (i.e. Air Force, Navy, Army, etc.) pays Regis and the student’s account is adjusted appropriately.
TA forms received with class start/end dates not matching Regis schedule will be rejected at the time of invoicing. Refer to your college’s academic calendar to find the correct dates.
