In order to justify institutional investment in instructional designers, it’s necessary to prove demand. Yet demand is generated by having rich online course offerings. How can universities on limited budgets build excellent offerings to justify further institutional investments in online learning? This session will provide the observed benefits of the peer mentor model, such as strong course offerings, increased interest in course development, and a growing sense of collegiality. Also, ways to increase faculty participation in addition to the stipends and training opportunities the peer mentors receive will be presented.
