Reducing Plastic Waste
Created and funded by the RUSGA Sustainability committee and implemented by the Regis University Physical Plant, the “Trust the Tap” initiative has resulted in the installation of twenty water filtration systems in buildings across campus. A concurrent “Trust the Tap” campaign provides information about tap water cleanliness, environmental stewardship, and economic efficiency while encouraging community members to discontinue the use of plastic water bottles.
Fun fact: “The recommended eight glasses of water a day, at U.S. tap rates equals about $.49 per year; that same amount of bottled water is about $1,400.”-Ban the Bottle
