Student Coverage Our student health insurance provides coverage for students who are required to have health insurance while enrolled in Regis University classes. This includes students taking six or more credit hours and are enrolled as a traditional undergraduate student in Regis College. Select Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions students are also required to show proof of private coverage and are eligible to purchase the student health insurance. EligibilityEnrollmentCostOnlineInformation Student Health Insurance Requirements All required students must access the Aetna Student Health website and either enroll in the Regis University Student Health Insurance plan or waive this coverage and provide proof of alternate, comparable health insurance coverage. If a student chooses to waive the University plan, he/she must do so before the first term on campus and every successive fall. If a student fails to waive coverage by the appropriate deadlines, he/she will be enrolled in and billed for the University Student Health insurance plan. Because of their tuition allocation, all traditional undergraduate students enrolled in Regis College and graduate students in the Masters of Biomedical Sciences as well as Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions Accelerated Nursing students, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Doctor of Pharmacy students are eligible to utilize Student Health Services. Students may elect to enroll in the Regis University Student Health Insurance Plan or waive the University plan and maintain an alternative health insurance plan at least as extensive as that provided by the University plan. If you choose to waive the University plan, you must provide the University with proof of that coverage so that we may remove the charge from your student account. Enrollment Period New enrollments are accepted during the following designated enrollment periods: Enrollment Period Dates of Coverage Fall (5/31/16 - 8/29/16) 8/22/16 - 12/31/16 Spring (11/14/16- 1/23/17) 1/1/17 - 8/21/17 Summer Only 2016 (select programs; 4/3/16-5/15/17) 5/2/16 - 8/21/17 Students have until July 1st to waive the insurance prior to the charge being added to their account. After July 1st anyone who has not waived the insurance will be billed. However, students still have until August 29th to complete the waiver for the fall semester, which if done, would remove the fee from the invoice. It’s best to enroll or waive by July 1st is possible. Please note that you must enroll in or waive the Regis University Student Health Insurance Plan by the deadline August 29, 2016. To enroll in or waive the Regis University Student Health Insurance Plan online, please take the following steps: Make sure you have any current insurance cards or policy information on hand Visit https://www.aetnastudenthealth.com/students/student-connection.aspx?GroupID=812840. Click on Enroll/Waive: Student Health Insurance Plan. Follow the online steps to enroll or waive insurance. If you choose to enroll in the Regis University Health Insurance Plan now, please know that it is effective for the entire year and you will be billed again in the Spring semester. If you choose to waive the Regis University Student Health Insurance Plan now, the waiver will remain in effect through the end of the policy year on August 21, 2017. You will need to enroll in or waive the University plan your first term at Regis and again each subsequent fall. Please note: You have been billed for the insurance; however, that does not mean that you are enrolled. You must visit the website and enroll yourself to activate the insurance. Failure to waive the Regis University Student Health Insurance Plan by August 29, 2016 will result in automatic enrollment, and you will be responsible for the full cost of the insurance for the semester. If you enroll in the fall you will automatically be re-enrolled in the spring semester assuming you have registration.
