Then our 60 minute Boot Camp class is perfect for you! Come join us for a high energy class filled with both cardiovascular and strength training exercises to leave you feeling tired, but exhilarated by the time you are done. CSI (Cardio Strength Intervals) During this 45 minute class, your instructor will have you alternate between cardiovascular and strength based exercise utilizing your own body weight, dumbbells, body bars, medicine balls, steps, and more. All ability and skill levels are welcome. Partner Push There’s no better motivation to push yourself than working out with a partner! Grad a friend and join us for a 60 minute high intensity interval class. This class will have a combination of cardio and strength training, challenging each individual to do their best. Don’t have a friend to workout with? Join us anyways and partner up with an instructor, make a new friend in class or make a group of three! Kick and Strength Enjoy cardio kickboxing but also looking for some additional strength training while you work out. If so, this is the class for you! Come join us for this 45 minute class that will increase your heart rate while also improving your overall strength. All ability and skill levels are welcome. Core Xpress Looking for a workout to help strengthen and tone your core? This 30 minute core class is just what you are looking for. Come join us to help take you through a class focused on abdominal and lower back work. During a class you will utilize body weight and equipment to help give that core the strength you’ve been looking for. All skill levels are welcome! Butts N’ Guts Want to tone up that midsection? This class is for you then! Butts N’ Guts targets the core and lower body muscles. Work the abdominals, obliques, lower back, hip, glutes, quads, hamstrings and calves using a variety of equipment. All in 45 minutes! All ability and skill levels are welcome. Total Body Looking to increase strength and tone all over? Total body is an excellent class to help build all over strength while also giving your muscles a nice “toned” appearance. This 45 minute full body workout utilizes body bars, dumbbells and free weights to help strengthen your body. Our instructors are trained and able to assist participants in maintaining proper form throughout class to help avoid injury. All ability and skill levels are welcome. Zumba® Come dance with us! Latin-inspired rhythms fused with easy-to-follow choreography, dance moves, and intervals create the ultimate 60 minute full body workout. Zumba® is one of the most, if not the most, successful dance formats in the world, and is here to stay. Just dance! Dance! Dance! All of our instructors are Zumba® certified. All abilities and skill levels are welcome. Pilates Pilates is a series of movements that engage the mind and condition the total body. The blend of strength and flexibility training helps to improve posture, reduce stress, and improve muscle endurance and strength. Pilates takes a balanced approach in the area of fitness so that no muscle group is overworked. This form of fitness will help keep both the mind and body in balance to help improve all aspects of daily living. All skill levels are welcome! Come join us for a peaceful 60 minutes of your day where you will learn to connect your breath and movements to help reduce stress and re-center your day. Our certified yoga instructor will lead you through a variety of sun salutations, yoga poses, spine strengthening, and breathing exercises to help you improve your overall well-being. Personal Training Program Policies and Procedures Due to the high demand for our trainers, the structure of the program has undergone some changes beginning in the Fall 2016 and 2017 semesters to help us accommodate all those looking to work with a trainer. Personal Training will be offered to Students, Faculty and Staff during the Fall and Spring semesters of the school year. Personal Training may be offered during the summer dependent on funding and training availability. Clients who sign up with a trainer have the option to work with a trainer for up to 12 sessions. The sessions can be done once, twice or three times a week for a length of 4-12 weeks. Clients are not allowed to meet with a trainer on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Once a client has done their 12 sessions with a trainer, if there is a waitlist they have the option to go back onto the waitlist and wait for a trainer again. Going back on the waitlist does not guarantee that you will receive the same trainer the second time around. If there is not waitlist at the time, the client may have the option to continue on with their trainer for 12 more sessions. Clients can return back into the waitlist on an unlimited basis. To register for personal training services, please print and complete the Health History Questionnaire (HHQ) form. You can email or fax your form to the Coordinator of Fitness and Wellness or drop off the form in a sealed envelope at the Wellness and Recreation Center. Once the Coordinator receives your HHQ, you will be matched with a personal trainer who best suits your personal health, fitness goals and availability once your spot is reached on the waitlist. One-on-one Personal Training One-on-one personal training is our most common form of training here at Regis University. In one-on-one training sessions you are paired with a trainer for up to 12 sessions meeting 1-2 times a week. You time with your trainer begins with an assessment and ends with an assessment to see how you progressed over your 12 sessions. One-on-one sessions occur within the fitness center utilizing our variety of cardio and strength equipment. Sign up today by filling out our Health History Questionnaire. Partner Personal Training Sign up for our partner personal training and reach your goals with your friend. Partner personal training is limited to 2 people who have the same fitness goals. In partner personal training you and your friend will work with a trainer as a team to meet your goals for up to 12 sessions meeting 1-3 times a week. Assessments are also done together during your first and last meetings with your trainer. Partner groups will work with a trainer in the fitness center using all different types of equipment to get an awesome one hour workout! Group Personal Training Sign up for our group personal training sessions with a group of 3-4 friends, or if you would like to meet a group of people with similar fitness goals, we can combine you into a group as well. With our group personal training sessions each individual will receive an assessment on their own before the group sessions begin and an individual post assessment after the 12 sessions have been rendered. Your group will meet with a trainer 1-3 times a week for an hour at a time, on a time agreed upon by everyone, in LDC 125 for all sessions. Group routines are made based on fitness goals that are common for the group. Sessions are done with a personal trainer and geared towards your personal needs, therefore, not to be confused with our group fitness classes which are classes taught based on a type of format. Even though you are working in a small group, you will still receive one-on-one attention with one of our certified trainers. Fitness Center Policies and Procedures Under 18 Liability Waiver Fitness Center Admittance Verification of eligibility to use Wellness and Recreation facilities and/or participate in Wellness and Recreation programs is required. The Fitness Center reserves the right to refuse admittance to any individual if he/she poses a potential threat to physical property, patrons, or staff. Members must present a valid Regis or state issued ID upon entering the facility. One & Done rule A member may forget his or her ID one time per semester and still be admitted to the facility. If a patron attempts to enter the Fitness Center a second time without their ID in the same semester he or she will be asked to return with their ID or pay the $4.00 guest fee. Patrons utilizing their “one & done” must sign the Forgotten ID log upon entering the facility. False ID Attempts to use another individual's ID to gain access to the Campus Recreation center & the loaning of an individual’s ID for this purpose is a violation of Regis University’s Student Code of Conduct. Consequences of this action may result in the confiscation of ID(s), suspension of Fitness Center access, and referral to the University Student Conduct office. Dedication to a Safe Environment The goal of Wellness and Recreation (W&R) staff is to ensure all patrons have a safe environment in which to recreate. Risk management is a part of our program which has to be implemented on a daily basis to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff. In keeping with the mission statement and related goals for creating a welcoming, safe, and fun environment, patrons will not be allowed to express verbal or written profanity while in the Fitness Center or participating in Wellness and Recreation programs. The following policies and procedures are designed for the protection of our members, employees and facilities. Please observe all posted signs and directions given by W&R staff. The staff will gladly explain the rationale behind Fitness Center policies and procedures. Violations may result in removal from the facility and/or loss of W&R privileges. Wellness and Recreation reserves the right to refuse access or service to any individual who refuses to follow the policies and procedures detailed in this document and/or is deemed a detriment to patrons/staff or physical property within the Fitness Center. Fitness Center patrons are reminded that the Regis Student Code of Conduct is applicable in all Wellness and Recreation facilities and programs. Failure to comply will result in referral to the Student Conduct Office. Health and Safety Disclaimer The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) guidelines for healthy aerobic activity recommends that individuals should perform cardiovascular exercise 3-5 days per week maintaining appropriate exercise intensity for 30-45 minutes also including gradual warm up and cool down periods lasting approximately 5-10 minutes each. Additionally, ACSM recommends that individuals engage in strength training 2-3 days per week. Wellness and Recreation reserves the right address over exercising issues with a patron(s) if there is probable cause for concern. Patron Attire Fitness Center Dress Code – In keeping with the mission statement and related goals for creating a welcoming, safe, and fun environment, and to address sanitary concerns, Wellness and Recreation adheres to the following dress code stipulations. Top – t-shirt or full tank top Tops that cover the torso are required in all areas of the Fitness Center. Tank tops are allowed if there is no excessive chest or back exposure. Prohibited tops – Bare midriff shirts, tank tops, or cut-off t-shirts with the sleeve opening extending further than the elbow. Bottom – athletic shorts or pants Shorts must have a minimum 2 inch inseam. Prohibited bottoms – non-athletic pants (jeans, khakis etc.), excessive zippers or buttons. Shoes – Non-marking athletic shoes are required to be worn at all times. Exception: Patrons may participate in specific Group Exercise classes barefoot (i.e. Yoga) as stipulated in the Group Exercise policies.
