The dramatic increase in exchange of highly valued data across an enterprise network has resulted in the need to better understand and manage SANs, NAS and DAS networks. The 12-credit-hour graduate academic certificate in Storage Area Networks focuses on timely and pertinent storage topics from design of access networks, virtualization of enterprise data, backup/recovery and disaster recovery and management through hands-on experience with SAN hardware and software.

Students in the Storage Area Networks certificate program will explore:

  • Virtualized server and storage systems, including hosted and in-house cloud services
  • High availability and disaster recovery systems
  • Network and storage encryption systems
  • Authentication, authorization, and auditing (AAA) capabilities
  • Information assurance models that apply to the security of a system's database and application services
