Are you a critical thinker with effective writing skills and a passion for understanding human behavior? Are you interested in social welfare issues? If so, you may be interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology studies social interaction, collective behavior, and the ways people construct their society. Sociology also examines the structural causes of social problems and social welfare studies social interaction, collective behavior and the ways people together construct their society. It is an exciting way of looking at our lives and the world around us. A degree in sociology gives students the tools to critically examine culture, the environment, social class, race and ethnic relations, the global community, and the criminal justice system. This degree will give students the research and writing skills that are necessary to either pursue graduate work or to work in the community.

Students who are interested in people, in working with people, in understanding the ways our social institutions, such as work, education, and family help to shape us. Our students gain analytical and research skills, a deeper appreciation for identity and diversity, comprehension of world events and an ability to read media critically, and an awareness of themselves as responsible citizens.

To apply to the B.A. Sociology program, you will need:

  • Official high school transcripts

The first step in the application process is to contact an admissions counselor, who can help you through the entire application process, evaluate your prior learning credit (AP, IB, etc.) and provide information regarding financial aid and tuition assistance.

Tuition and Fees

Full-time tuition for the 2024-2025 academic year: $45,990/year (fall and spring semesters)
Part-time tuition for the 2024-2025 academic year (less than 12 credit hours per semester): $1,533/credit hour
