The Center's Volunteer Program provides an opportunity to become involved in the crusade to end domestic violence. Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

• Advocacy* - Assisting clients with the Temporary Restraining Order process and court
• Safehouse* - Helping at the temporary emergency shelter for victims and their children
• Crisisline* - Providing telephone crisis intervention, information and referral services on a 24 hour helpline
• Counseling* - Educating groups and individuals on domestic violence prevention
• Court Watch* - Observing and documenting domestic violence court proceedings
• DVERT Advocate* - Assisting victims in high risk domestic violence situations
• Special Events - Occasionally helping at special events scheduled throughout the year
• Projects - Assisting in general upkeep of facilities such as painting, landscaping, clean-up of house interior

All volunteers are required to sign a waiver of confidentiality.

SET of Colorado Springs assists uninsured or underinsured and low-income residents of the Pikes Peak are by providing a variety of health care services. By collaborating with other agencies, SET provides unduplicated services. Service Learning opportunities are available in the following:

• Research - gathering information on state legislative issues that affect healthcare
• Presentation design - develop a presentation that can be used by volunteers with various audiences to describe the program and pertinent social issues
• Public Relations - examining how to best share information in the community
• Marketing - develop marketing plans
• Technology - networking; web design

*Comprehensive training session is required

**Background, Central Registry for Child Protection, fingerprint and Colorado Bureau of Investigations check needed.
