Next Steps After You Submit Your Application

Now that you have submitted your undergraduate application to the College for Professional Studies (CPS), see below for the next steps to joining the Regis community. Your enrollment counselor or academic  advisor can help to answer any questions you may have.

Post Application Checklist

Application Status

Check with your enrollment counselor about the status of your admission file. A completed admission file is needed for full admission. This file includes:
    • Application
    • Writing sample
    • All official transcripts within 30 days

    Speak with Your Faculty Advisor

Once your transcripts are received and evaluated, you will be assigned an advisor and you will be contacted to set an advising appointment in person or by phone. Your advisor will assist you with your degree plan, identify required course work and discuss options for completing your degree.

    Arrange Tuition Payments

For financial aid, fill out the Financial Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Questions? Contact the Financial Aid Office at 303.458.4126 or 800.568.8932.

For the deferred payment option, pick up appropriate forms at a CPS Service Desk or online at www.regis.edu/studentaccounts (select Due Dates and Forms). Submit forms to the CPS Service Desk at any campus location or send to the Office of Student Accounts.

Sponsored Billing: If your employer has an agreement with Regis, you will need a letter of authorization from your employer - complete the Sponsored Billing Tuition Deferment Form available online at www.regis.edu/studentaccounts (select Sponsored Billing)

Sign up for your Regis Net/WebAdvisor Account

Go to http://insite.regis.edu. Click on the RegisNet Account link to set up your account. This is your connection to many Regis CPS links including registering for class, paying your tuition, obtaining your grades, your Regis email box, and much more.

    Attend New Student Orientation

The CPS Undergraduate Program provides many resources for student success. To become familiar with them, take time to view the New Student Orientation at http://cpsundergradorientation.org before beginning your first class. Your advisor will also review these resources with you periodically.

    Register for Class

Work with your enrollment counselor  to select and enroll in your first class. If you have been out of college for five years or more and/or have fewer than 30 transfer credits, you must enroll in ED205 Adult Learning as your first course unless a writing course is also required. . ED205 introduces students to theories of adult learning, strategies for success and opportunities for writing and research. Credit earned may be applied toward your degree plan and is eligible for financial aid. ED205 is strongly encouraged for all students new to accelerated learning. Students with recent college experience or more than 30 transfer credits may choose courses listed at https://webadvisor.regis.edu

Obtain Course Module, Overview, and Books

Every course uses a module/overview as a guide to course content. It is important to obtain the module/overview and your books prior to the first night of class.

First night assignments are required for  campus-based courses  and required textbooks are outlined in the module/overview. You may download the module/overview from www.regis.edu/spsundergrad.

All courses have a minimum of one textbook. You may order books through the Follet Bookstore at 303.458.4150 or 800.798.4153, online at www.regis.edu/bookstore, or purchase them at the Lowell campus.

The New Century Handbook (latest edition) is the accepted English writing guide used in CPS undergraduate courses. It provides assistance with grammatical questions and bibliographic citations. Every student is encouraged to purchase a copy of The New Century Handbook for use throughout their program at Regis.

    Complete First Night Assignment

All CPS courses are accelerated so there will be a reading and writing assignment due for the first class session. Your assignment will be listed in the course module/overview (see previous section). Note: Online students do not have a First Night Assignment but will have assignments due the first week.
