Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act
Join the Regis community as we celebrate 50 years of Colorado wilderness and the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act. The Wilderness Act established a National Wilderness Preservation System and set aside more than 9 million acres of wilderness for the use of the American people. More than 100 million acres have since been added.
To celebrate this milestone, join us for one or all of the following events:
- On Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m., iconic wilderness photographer John Fielder will discuss and display his work during a free conversation in the Claver Recital Hall.
- On Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m., local experts will host a panel discussion about wilderness-focused careers in Claver Hall, Room 306.
- On Thursday, Oct. 23 AT 6:30 p.m., poets Eleanor Swanson and Dave Mason will host a wilderness poetry reading in Dayton Memorial Hall.
