Real People. Lasting Impact. Lindsay Mace, CCLS '16 As a graduating high school senior, Lindsay Mace received a full scholarship to college but was unable to take advantage of the opportunity due to her responsibilities as a teen parent. Despite her situation, she never gave up on the idea of earning a college degree. A few years later when the time was right, she chose to attend Regis University. To keep a job, care for her daughter and complete her degree, Mace took courses on a part-time basis for six years. In doing so, she reached the maximum financial aid allowance before completing her coursework. But giving up was never an option for Mace. “Regis helped me find a path for my life, and I had come too far to give up,” she said. When Regis University offered her the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship, she was able to accept it. “As a single parent, financial hardship is the name of the game,” she said. “This scholarship made all the difference, easing the burden and letting me focus my efforts on my family and my education.” After graduating this May with a bachelor’s degree in applied psychology, Mace hopes to attend graduate school in the future. “I’ve chosen to pursue graduate-level education, and I will stick it out for the long haul,” she said. “Earning my undergraduate degree is an important milestone and I feel a great sense of accomplishment. Knowing that Regis makes it possible for people like me persevere is incredibly reassuring.” Your support impacts students each day and helps create leaders in service of others who impact their communities and the world.
