Jagan Gudur named Chief Information Officer at Regis University

Jagan Gudur has been named Chief Information Officer at Regis University, overseeing the university’s information technology services.  He began the new role on Jan. 7, 2013.

He was previously director – information technology at West Virginia University.

“Jagan Gudur brings a proven track record in both business and higher education,” said Patricia Ladewig, provost of Regis University.  “His leadership style, listening skills, dedication to customer service and his insights into the spirit of the Regis University mission are impressive.  “We’re excited to welcome Jagan to the Regis University community.”

“Leading organizations in leveraging technology to further their mission and goals by partnering with functional and IT groups has characterized my career,” Gudur said.  “I’m excited about the chief information officer role at Regis University.”

Gudur has more than 19 years of information technology and management experience spanning higher education, consulting, and telecom.  He has served as president of Enteleqy, Inc., Irving, Tex, and director – information technology at Verizon Communications.  He has also held positions at IBM, and has served as a faculty member at the Dallas County Community College District.

He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Osmania University, India. He is currently completing a CIO Certificate in Information Technology Management at Carnegie Mellon University.

Among his awards and accolades are three Chairman’s Leadership Awards, five excellence awards and several customer and achievement awards.

In an essay highlighting his thoughts on Regis University’s mission, Gudur wrote the following: “To serve as CIO at Regis University would be an opportunity to make my own humble contribution to the service of mankind and to make the world a better place. Regis’ foundational beliefs resonate with me and have frequently reminded me of the theme of a daily prayer I’ve been reciting since childhood: Lead us O’ Lord from ignorance to knowledge, darkness to light, death to immortality (of the soul).”
