Dr. Sarah Bierhaus teaches applied oboe at Regis. She is the principal oboist of the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra and Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra and plays oboe and English horn in the Central City Opera. Her woodwind quintet, the Antero Winds (formerly Arundo Winds), has won national awards and gives recitals and educational presentations all over the continent.

Ms. Bierhaus received her D.M.A. at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she studied with Peter Cooper. She also holds a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Richard Killmer. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton College. In addition to teaching at Regis, Ms. Bierhaus has taught applied oboe at the University of Northern Colorado and she currently maintains an active private teaching studio.
