Regis Chapter

The Regis chapter of Active Minds is an undergraduate student group whose goal is to:

De-stigmatize mental illness by promoting open, enlightened discussion of mental health issues; and to creating a better life for all who suffer. To capitalize on the energy and dedication of young adults in the fight against the stigma that surrounds mental illness, and to educate, enlighten, and empower all young adults to ensure their own mental health before it ever reaches a tragic stage.

If you are interested in joining or learning more about Active Minds, please call Cindy Wander at 303.964.6018 or contact her by email.

Mission

Promote mental health and suicide prevention on campus and in the greater community through awareness campaigns and educational programs.
Train people to become suicide prevention gatekeepers.
Engage students in activities that promote dialogue, awareness and change related to mental health.

Perspective

Focus on mental health just as we would physical health- a holistic approach to wellness
Everyone has a role to help our friends and community thrive
Everyone can help raise awareness of mental health through personal voice and public health action

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson, diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder

Not Alone

Regis University Active Minds students have created a Facebook group called Not Alone, to connect online, increase awareness of mental health issues and remind their peers on the Regis campus and the community at large that every person is valuable and there is help available in difficult times. Connect on Facebook – Like Us! Click Not Alone to check us out.

To Write Love On Her Arms

To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) is a campaign to spread love and care while promoting suicide prevention. Students have connected with the TWLOHA Facebook page and coordinate events with nationally held TWLOHA days. Students spread the message of love and suicide prevention awareness through giving out information, bracelets, t-shirts, and by writing LOVE on their arms.
