The Peer Minister (PM) position at Regis is a student leadership opportunity sponsored by University Ministry and the Office of Residence Life, Housing and Event Services. The PM’s primary responsibility is to assist in the work of University Ministry by promoting the spiritual development and faith awareness of a living/learning community of students in a residence hall.
The PM is commissioned by University Ministry to serve his/her fellow students in a variety of ways:
- Performing ministry hours in the halls
- Promoting spiritual based programming for the residence hall
- Being available to the students for fellowship and referral opportunities
- Fostering hall community
- Has a passion and interest in developing his/her own faith and the faith of others

The Assistant Residence Life Coordinator(ARLC) position at Regis University is a student leadership opportunity sponsored by the Office of Residence Life, Housing and Event Services. Desk Assistant
The Desk Assistant (DA) position at Regis is a work study position where DA's work the front desk of their assigned residence hall and help maintain the security of the building while providing friendly customer service for the residents of the hall. DAs report to the designated Residence Life Coordinator(s) for Desk Operations. To be eligible for the position, you must have completed at least 1 semester as a student at Regis University.
Responsibilities include:
- Signing in residents’ guests
- Completing “rounds” of the building each hour
- Supporting Residence Life staff members
- And other duties as assigned

Night Desk Assistant
The Night Desk Assistant position at Regis is a student position that does not require the student to have work-study funds. This position has all of the same responsibilities as a Desk Assistant. An Night Desk Assistant works during the hours of 12:00am (midnight) and 8:00am. All DAs report to the designated Residence Life Coordinator(s) for Desk Operations. The pay rate for this position is$10.00/hour. To be eligible for the position, you must have completed at least 1year as a student at Regis University.

Desk Assistant Coordinator (DAC)
The Desk Assistant Coordinator (DAC) position at Regis University is a work study position sponsored by the Office of Residence Life, Housing and Event Services. Residence Life at Regis University, consistent with the academic mission of the College, strives to create a positive and safe environment for students. The DAC's primary responsibility is to mentor current Desk Assistants (DAs) and maintain communication with supervisors and building professional staff. The DACs report to the designated Coordinator(s) for Desk Operations. If applying to be a DAC, you must have previously served as a Desk Assistant.
Responsibilities include:
- Meeting bi-weekly with each of the DAs assigned to their halls
- Mentoring DAs on day-to-day duties such as confrontation, duty logs, etc…
- Assisting in and leading training sessions
- Continuing to serve as a Desk Assistant
The Office of Residence Life, Housing and Event Services during the academic year employs student staff who qualify for Federal work study in the following positions: Office Assistants, Housing & Operations Assistants, and Event Assistants.
Office Assistants
The Office Assistant performs tasks related to the daily operations of the Office of Residence Life, Housing and Event Services. By performing these tasks, the Office Assistant is able to provide excellent customer service to students living in the Residence Halls. Office Assistants are responsible for the following duties:
Customer Service
- Provide back-up telephone coverage in the Residence Life Office. The Office Assistant will provide thorough customer service for all telephone calls by directing the caller to the appropriate party and/or taking thorough and accurate messages.
- Provide accurate information for all customers (students, parents, faculty and staff)
- Listen to the concerns of residents and parents and address them whenever possible. Students and parents should be referred to the appropriate party when necessary.
Office Operations
- Manage the posting, distribution and removal of information in the Residence Halls
- Manage the posting and removal of information on the Off-Campus Housing bulletin board
- Create and maintain files
- Deliver correspondence and run errands to areas on campus
- Create promotions for campus events
- Assist with Desk Assistant and work-study payroll.
- Assist in-office Professional Staff members with additional tasks as needed
- Support in-office Professional Staff members with major projects
- Attend all work-study staff meetings and trainings
In-Hall Assistance
Office Assistants will provide Residence Life Coordinators and Operations Assistants with in-hall assistance when needed. These include, but are not limited to:
- Posting and removing items in the Residence Halls
- Filing
- Special Projects (assisting a Residence Life Professional Staff and/or Operations Assistants with a particular project or activity not directly related to Residence Hall management)
- Additional tasks as needed
Housing & Operations Assistants
The Residence Life Housing and Operations Assistant is designed to provide operational and customer service components for Residence Life, Housing, and Event Services. There are a number of different areas that require attention during the course of the academic year. Specific duties for are listed below:
- Preparation of hall rooms for conference season and the return of students in the fall, including moving furniture.
- Preparation of facilities for use which may include moving of furniture and equipment
- Painting of residence hall rooms or halls
- General minor repair work to halls
- Weekly building walkthroughs
- Maintain work order logs
- Preparation of residence hall common areas
- Provide customer service and emergency support
- Miscellaneous administrative duties
- Other duties as assigned

The Residence Life Summer Staff position is designed to assist with the operational and customer service components of Residence Life, Housing, and Event Services. There are a number of different areas that require attention during different times in the summer. All staff members will provide crossover support to all areas including conference or office support and customer service inside the Welcome Center. There are close to 15 positions available and these student staff work full-time (averaging 35 hours/ week) through the summer and receive housing on-campus as part of the compensation.
