Education is a cooperative two-way exchange process between the instructor and the student-learner. It is as important for the instructor to learn from the student in the exchange of ideas and information as it is for the learner to be open to new ideas and wisdom of the instructor. Mutual respect is key. Without it, the learning process is blocked and/or prevented from reaching its full potential. As an advanced practice nurse, I have been a clinical educator of evidence based practice for the past six years prior to coming to Regis. In doing so, I have found the mutual dialogue between instructors and learners to be both enlightening and enriching; I bring it forward with my love of teaching to Regis University, Loretto Heights School of Nursing.
