Starting Therapy

Making the Decision

Many of us struggle with personal issues, especially when in relationship with others. Regis counseling offers the space to explore alternative solutions to life's intricate problems, whether young or old.

Your session will be conducted by a Master's level counselor or family therapist in-training who is actively being supervised by a licensed mental health professional during each session.  ​All counselors/family therapists follow models of treatment proven to be effective by current research in the field of psychotherapy.

Your First Session

Plan to arrive approximately 10 minutes early to fill out compliance and personal history paperwork (or fill paperwork out ahead of time).

Therapy will begin with an introduction to each other, followed by review of therapeutic policies. Your therapist will take the time to understand your unique needs and preferred outcome. Treatment planning is a collaborative process where you co-create the path towards healing that would be most beneficial to you.

Tracking Your Progress

Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes and begins with a review of your progress as well as time to share personal feedback generated from previous sessions. Each session ends by measuring the helpfulness of therapy in that session.

Our hope is that you will come away from therapy with some tools and more confidence to face life's challenges and enhance your everyday well-being.

Forms

Once you are confirmed for your appointment, you will receive an email similar to this one: appointment confirmation. It will have directions, payment instructions and contact information for canceling or changing appointments. We suggest arriving for your appointment approximately 10 minutes early on your first visit to fill out paperwork.
