If you received a Federal Stafford loan with either CitiBank or Regis as Lender and you plan to reapply for financial aid for 2008-09, read this important information for Regis University Graduate Loan borrowers and CitiBank borrowers.

The Financial Aid Office serves students in Regis College, the College for Professional Studies, and the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions. Most awards are based on financial need, although a limited amount of aid is available to students without need.

The first step to receive financial aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Submitting the FAFSA allows you to apply for federal, state and institutional grants, loans, student employment, and scholarships. Choose the Application Process link at the left for more information.

Types of Aid

Scholarships:

Scholarships are awards based on academic performance, leadership potential, or other talent. Scholarships do not have to be repaid. They may be federal, state, or institutional funds. Full-time enrollment is required for most scholarships.

Grants:

Grants are awarded to students who show financial eligibility based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) results or who have met other criteria. These may be federal, state or institutional funds. Grants do not have to be repaid. Full-time enrollment is required for most grants except the Federal Pell Grant, which is pro-rated for less than full-time enrollment. To learn more about grants, click here.

Loans:

Student loans are an additional means to finance a college education. Loans must be repaid and include a variety of interest rates and repayment terms. To learn more about loans, click here.

Student Employment/Work-Study:

Part time employment may be one component of a financial aid package. Students may work a maximum of 20 hours per week. Please click the Student Employment link for more information and forms. Community Service opportunites can be found at Service Learning. The priority deadline for Student Employment applications is March 1.

NSEP Fellowships
Support students pursuing the study of languages, cultures, and world regions which are critical to U.S. national security, but which are less frequently studied by U.S. graduate students, i.e., areas of the world other than Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

During the 2006-2007 academic year, we provided approximately $104 million dollars in scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study stipends from federal, state, and institutional sources. The total amount of aid given in scholarships and grants was 21%; loans 75%; work-study 2%; and benefits 2%.

Satisfactory Academic Progress

Three conditions are required for students to be eligible to receive financial aid at Regis University: one concerns the number of credits a student completes each semester, one relates to a student’s grade-point average, and one addresses maximum credit hours.
