Scholarships/Research Interests:
Dr Whitman is interested in investigation of various physical therapy management strategies for patients with spinal disorders, especially for those with lumbar spinal stenosis. Additionally, she is interested in research involving assessment of the efficacy of manual physical therapy interventions for musculoskeletal disorders. Dr Whitman has been involved with the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy since 2002, initially serving as a reviewer, then as a member of the Editorial Review Board member since Jan 2003. She was a guest editor for a special issue on direct access physical therapy, which was published in the fall of 2005.
