Joan Conners joined the Regis faculty in Fall 1996. She has a B.A. in Broadcast and Electronic Communication from Marquette University, as well as an M.A. in Mass Communication, and Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in Mass Communication. She has worked in radio news production, television news writing, and has conducted research for public relations firms and public television. At Regis, Conners teaches Media and Politics, Mass Communication and Society, Audio Production and Programming, Communication Research Methods and Media Writing. In addition to research on political advertising reform, she also studies local television news, effects of campaign coverage, and has conducted research on political cartoons of the Persian Gulf War and of the U.S. Congress.
