This section may aid you in addressing elements of a proposal and move you closer to writing that successful grant proposal:
Cover Letter
Objective: A letter briefly describing the project and amount of funding being sought. The cover letter should be short, motivating, say something different, and show dramatic need or uniqueness.
Executive Summary
Objective: Generally describes the objectives, the approach, and the evaluation. The summary is the most important part of the proposal because it is often the most read part of the proposal.
Statement of Need
Objective: To briefly summarize the current problem. Document the problem as it is now - then how the situation could be improved.
Goals and Objectives
Objective: Steps and activities required to achieve the aims, which are general statements of what you want to accomplish. Goals and Objectives should be clear and measurable.
Project Activities
Objective: To explain how the project will reach its objectives.
Evaluation
Objective: Include a plan to assess the project.
Budget
Objective: To request a specific dollar amount in the proposal.
Conclusion
Objective: To identify the desired action by the sponsor.
Attachments/ Appendices
Objective: To include any additional reports, documents or letter of endorsement or confirmation as required by the funder.
