Why Reunion Giving?

The current reunion gift program at Regis was established in 2001. This year, volunteers from four Regis and Loretto Heights classes are busy raising money from their classmates to honor their reunion years. The Regis reunion giving program has four main goals:

  • Challenge each member of a reunion class to increase their most recent gift, or make their first gift to Regis in honor of their reunion year.
  • Celebrate the tradition of giving that classes have established in the past, and emphasize the importance of that support and what it has done for the Regis community.
  • Allow alumni to re-establish their class identity, and challenge the class as whole to participate at a higher level than previous classes during their reunion year.
  • Give alumni a new way to be engaged in Regis University, as donors and volunteer fundraisers.

When is my reunion?
Reunions are celebrated in 5-year increments for Regis College and Loretto Heights College alumni. In 2009, reunion events will take place during Alumni Weekend, which will be July 9 - 11, 2010 for those graduating classes that end in 0 or 5. For more information, go to the Alumni Relations events webpage.

What is counted toward my class reunion gift total?
Any pledge, gift, or gift annuity received between May 1 of the year before the reunion through the actual day of the reunion gathering will be counted toward the reunion gift total. For example, for a reunion that is to be held in 2009, gifts or pledges received between July 1, 2009 and the reunion gathering in July 2010 would be included.

How will my reunion gift be used? Is there a specific project?
In an effort to be as inclusive as possible, most classes will not select a specific fund or project for which to raise money. This allows each donor to designate his/her gift to a project of his/her choice and still have it count towards the reunion gift total.

How do I volunteer for the reunion gift program?
We are currently recruiting volunteer teams for the 2009 reunion year, focusing on the Regis College and Loretto Heights classes of 1940, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 80, 85, 90, 95, 2000 and 2005. Please contact Kelly Darby in the Alumni Office at 800-388-2366, ext. 5746 to volunteer.
