Information About the Regis University Website

Below is a list of four informational items related to accessing the Regis University website:

  • Description of the overall structure of the Regis University website. The Regis web pages, except the home page, are divided into the following four sections:

    • The left navigation bar. This is where the screen reader will begin to read first. It consists of links to the entire Regis University website.

    • The top navigation bar. It contains links to the subtopics within the area being viewed. For instance, under academic programs, will be links to undergrad traditional, undergrad adult and graduate programs

    • The content specific navigation bar. It has additional links to detail within the subtopic. For example, the mathematics department page contains detail links to faculty, course descriptions and major/minor requirements.

    • The content. This is where the content for a page is displayed.

  • Description of tools to navigate the Regis University website:

    • alt-tags. Picture links and images have alt tags, which are text describing the links and images that a screen reader can read.

    • Invisible internal links. They are located on the top of each page. They link to disability access, left navigation bar, top navigation bar, content specific navigation bar, and the content.

    • CTRL TAB. In Window Eyes you can use CTRL TAB to return to the top of the page with the invisible links.

  • Stylesheets:

    • A stylesheet is used to format this website.

    • In the near future, we are hoping that using stylesheets will allow us to provide alternative stylesheets in order to offer a choice of font sizes when needed.

  • Adobe Acrobat:

If you use a screen reader, you can get more information about accessing Acrobat (PDF) files from the Adobe web site: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/access_onlinetools.html.

  • We are working to make the Regis University website as accessible as possible. If you have helpful suggestions or comments, please email them to the webmaster at webmaster@regis.edu. Thank you.
