Testimonials
"I loved being able to interact with patients and to start to understand all that goes into practicing primary care medicine. I definitely do not have a romanticized understanding of what the profession entails, but I am fascinated by it none the less. This internship has definitely made me question some of the greater, structural causes of poor health and how patients can be treated as complex individuals, instead of symptoms of a disease."
~ Anne F., Biology, Fall 2011 intern at Denver Health
"Karin has demonstrated outstanding skills that have gone beyond the GED room. She has extended her talents to working in the Job Readiness Lab every Thursday afternoon helping the women with their resumes and job searches on the computer. She has proved herself invaluable there as well and will be greatly missed by our agency."
~ Supervisor at Empowerment Program on Karin K.'s (Psychology/Philosophy) contribution as an intern Fall 2011
An academic internship is a form of experiential education that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skill development in a professional setting.
The Regis College Academic Internship Program is open to traditional undergraduates in Regis College. The program requires a minimum of 120 hours on-site with a company or organization in a Junior or Senior's major area of emphasis. (Freshmen and Sophomores can take a field experience for elective credit only.) Students gain marketable skills, insight into potential careers, and an opportunity to work in a professional environment which complements their undergraduate studies.
