The department has laboratory space for teaching and for research activities with human and nonhuman animals. These facilities provide undergraduate students with excellent opportunities to conduct research in biopsychology, cognition, perception, social development, child development, neuropsychology, behavioral neuroscience and other areas of psychology. The psychology labs feature several modern computers for students to use in laboratory research. A long tradition of Regis students have presented their research at regional and national professional conferences and many students have been co-authors of research papers published in scientific journals. These research activities give students valuable training which enhances job and graduate school opportunities.
Psychology majors can gain "hands on' experience of the discipline through the internship program at Regis University. This experience can complement the instruction students receive in the classroom, broaden the student's perspective of psychology, and help students make career decisions. As clinical psychologist, licensed in the state of Colorado, supervises the internship program for the Department.
