Reflection on the Internship Experience

Roxanne Samora - Wells Fargo

My leadership internship for the 2006 spring semester has been at Wells Fargo Business Credit. WFBC is a Factoring Division of Wells Fargo that purchases receivables from companies with weak assets, or who may not qualify for a loan. I have worked in both the accounting and collections departments, and now help handle the work with the relationship associates. This internship has been a leadership experience, not only because I have more responsibilities, but because I have taken the initiative to be learning constantly. I have interviewed several of my colleagues, supervisors and even managers outside of my own division regarding leadership and ideas pertaining to my capstone project. Along with my internship, I attend bi-weekly meetings with other leadership students and discuss topics such as ethics, work-life balance and growth. This experience has been more than valuable in my academic learning, but also with maturity and professionalism.
