Financial Aid Application Process

General Information

  • The 2009-2010 FAFSA applies to the Summer 2009, Fall 2009, and Spring 2010 semesters.
  • All financial aid is based on fund availability. To ensure that you receive maximum funding, submit the FAFSA by March 1. Students who submit the FAFSA after March 1 may not be considered for all funds because of limited availability.
  • You need to reapply for financial aid every year!

Estimate Your Eligibility

The federal government has implemented the FAFSA4caster, which will provide you with an early estimate of eligibility for federal student aid. This website provides you with an opportunity to enter your information, receive an estimate of financial aid awards, and then import your information into the federal application, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Visit www.FAFSA4caster.ed.gov to learn more.

Steps to apply for financial aid:

  • Apply to an eligible degree or certificate program at Regis.

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and list Regis University, Federal Code 001363, as your college.

    • The fastest, most accurate way to complete the FAFSA is on the Web. To apply for the first time online, go to PIN Registration and follow the directions to receive a Personal Identification Number (PIN). When you receive your PIN, complete the FAFSA at FAFSA.ed.gov. For priority funding, submit the FAFSA by March 1. Processing takes two to three days.

Tips to help you complete the FAFSA:

    • In Step 6: Regis University's code is 001363.
    • In Question 25: Include concurrent hours in your intended enrollment status. Most aid is based on at least half-time enrollment. CLEP, Dante, Challenge and Portfolio hours are not considered for FAFSA eligibility.
    • We encourage you to complete your federal income tax return prior to completing the FAFSA. If necessary, estimate your income in order to meet the March 1 deadline. If you estimate, you will need to file a FAFSA correction once you complete your income tax return.
    • The 2009-2010 paper FAFSA is available in a PDF version that can be completed, printed and mailed for processing. Students can access the PDF by visiting www.FederalStudentAid.ed.gov and then clicking on "FAFSA Filing Options."
    • Check the FAFSA for accuracy. Incorrect information causes delays.
    • Do not send correspondence regarding extenuating circumstances with your FAFSA. Instead, send it to Enrollment Services, Regis University, 3333 Regis Blvd A-8, Denver, CO 80221.

After your financial aid application is complete, you will receive a Financial Aid Award Letter detailing your financial aid package. Based on your eligibility, your package may include: student loans, grants, Scholarships, and/or student employment opportunities

Loan Recipients:

There are two additional forms required if your financial aid package includes federal loans.

  • Award Response Form (ARF)
Your Financial Aid Award Letter will include an Award Response Form (ARF). Accept your loans by returning the completed ARF to Enrollment Services, Regis University, 3333 Regis Blvd A-8, Denver, CO 80221, or faxing it to 303-964-5449. When we receive your ARF, we will certify your loans. If your ARF is incomplete, the process will be delayed.

  • Master Promissory Note (MPN)
If this is your first Federal Stafford Loan, you must complete Online Entrance Counseling. To receive your loan funds promptly, complete this required counseling two weeks before the beginning of the semester by going to StudentLoanOnline.

After your loans are certified, you will receive an e-mail from your guarantor/lender asking you to fill out the Master Promissory Note (MPN). After you complete the MPN (you may sign the MPN on-line at StudentLoanOnline), your lender will send us confirmation that your loan is guaranteed.

If you have already completed a Master Promissory Note, you will not receive an e-mail from your guarantor/lender.

Your loans will be credited to your student account after the add/drop date when you achieve half-time enrollment for the semester.

Please Note:

  • If you receive funding from other sources, such as outside scholarships, employee tuition reimbursement programs, etc., complete the appropriate section of the Award Response Form or notify us in writing as to the source and amount you receive per semester. Send this information to Enrollment Services, Regis University, 3333 Regis Blvd A-8, Denver, CO 80221, or fax it to 303-964-5449. Failure to do so may require you to return financial aid funds.

  • If you are selected for verification, we will request copies of your Federal Income Tax Returns and an Institutional Verification Form (IVF).

  • Undergraduate Colorado residents may need to complete and return the Colorado Residency Form.
