Students graduate in the semester that all requirements are met and all documentation is received by the appropriate college/school by the designated deadline. Incomplete grades, late application for graduation, or late receipt of transfer credit or score reports may result in the degree being awarded in a later semester. Regis reserves the right to deny or revoke a degree or other academic credential if it was obtained by misrepresentation, fraud, or by mistake or error.
Graduation honors, if applicable, are reflected on the academic transcript when the degree is posted.
Undergraduate students who have completed 60 graded semester hours of Regis course work are awarded graduation honors according to the following cumulative grade point average standards:
Undergraduate students who have completed between 30 and 59 graded semester hours of Regis course work are awarded academic honors according to the following cumulative grade point average standards:
Information on applying for the national Jesuit College Honor Society can be found at Alpha Sigma Nu.
Graduate students who have completed master's or doctoral degree requirements with a cumulative grade point average of 3.850 or better for 600-level or 700-level courses are awarded graduate honors.
Enrollment Services posts each student's degree or certificate of completion as soon as possible. However, it can take anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks, depending on the individual student's circumstances, such as the term in which requirements are completed or receipt of competency-based credit or receipt of transfer credits or score reports. A copy of the official academic transcript showing the graduation information is automatically sent to the student.
Diplomas are mailed to students within one week after the degree posting has been completed. However, diplomas are not released if any financial indebtedness to Regis University exists.
Attendance at Commencement is encouraged. The Application for Graduation notifies the Office of Records and Registration if the student intends to participate in the Commencement ceremony. Undergraduate students are permitted to march in Commencement if they are within 15 semester hours of completing their degree requirements. Graduate students can march if they are within 6 semester hours of completing degree requirements. Graduates are listed in the Commencement program for the Commencement in which they march.
