ACPE Grants the School of Pharmacy Precandidate Status

The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) has granted the Regis University School of Pharmacy precandidate status. With this level of accreditation status, the School is pleased to be able to matriculate its pioneer class of students to begin this fall. Speaking before the ACPE Board of Directors during their June 2009 meeting in Chicago, IL, was School of Pharmacy Dean Lane J. Brunner who was joined by Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions Academic Dean, Patricia A. Ladewig and Regis University Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Allan Service. The ACPE Board and Regis team engaged in conversation about advances in the program since the April 2009 focused site visit and plans for its pioneer class of students this upcoming academic year. Much of the conversation encompassed the School’s integrated curriculum using team-based learning. The School anticipates that ACPE will request an onsite visit during the spring 2010 semester to evaluate the program for consideration to advance to candidate status. The School will provide updated information as it becomes available.

ACPE Completes Focused Site Visit

On April 23 and 24, 2009, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) completed a focused site visit of the School of Pharmacy. During the visit, the site team spoke with faculty and administrators about the progress the School has made since the comprehensive site visit last November. The site team will report their findings to the ACPE Board of Directors. The Board will make a decision during their June 24-28, 2009 meeting whether or not to grant the School of Pharmacy precandidate status. We look forward to the ACPE Board of Director’s decision and sharing the news at the end of June.
