Admission Requirements

You are encouraged to submit all required application materials at once, with the exception of official transcripts.

1. Submit a completed application form.

2. Request official transcripts to be sent directly to Regis University from the institution where you completed your physical therapy degree (either bachelor's or master's). If you earned your PT degree at Regis University, you do not need to request a transcript. Transcripts must be official. Official transcripts can be mailed or sent electronically. Regis accepts electronic transcripts from the following services: Scrip-Safe, Docufide, Avow Systems.

3. Submit two recommendation forms. Select professional and academic references that can address your academic, professional, and leadership potential. To ensure consistency of application review, we ask that additional narratives not be included. The recommendation forms provided must be used.

4. Submit a one-page typewritten essay (double-spaced) that addresses how the achievement of a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree will change your professional practice.

5. Submit a copy of your physical therapy license from the state in which you currently live and actively practice physical therapy. If you live in a border community, contiguous state licenses may apply.

6. Submit a nonrefundable $75.00 application fee. Instructions for payment are given when you complete this portion of the online application.

7. If English is not your native/first language, you must meet the following language proficiency requirement:

  1. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - minimum score of 82 (24 Writing, 20 Speaking, 22 Reading, 16 Listening) on the Internet-based TOEFL. Regis University's TOEFL code is 4656.

TRANSITION DPT ELIGIBILITY

Prior to being formally admitted in the Transition Doctor of Physical Therapy program, a student may take up to six semester hours (two courses) at Regis University as a Special Student. To be considered for admission, the applicant must meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Completion of the Transition DPT application form.
  2. Evidence of current and valid Physical Therapy licensure in the United States.
  3. Evidence of current APTA membership.
  4. Submission of official transcripts indicating successful completion of an entry-level Physical Therapy degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  5. Submission of two letters of recommendation.
  6. Submission of a one page essay that discusses how achievement of a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree is expected to change the applicant's professional practice.

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

There are specific requirements that you must meet to be considered for admission at Regis University.

  1. Submit an evaluation of foreign educational credentials from one of the agencies approved by Regis University. Approved agencies can be found at www.naces.org. Photocopies of the evaluation are not acceptable.
  2. Completed Supplemental application which is part of the online application.
  3. Copy of current Visa documents
  4. Copies of all old I-20’s (front & back) – (only required for students transferring from another US university/college)
  5. SEVIS Form – this form needs to be sent to the US university/college that the student attended in the US prior to acceptance to Regis. This form should be returned directly to the Registrars Office. This form will be sent to you upon application to RHCHP Admissions.
  6. Submit documentation of financial ability to pay all expenses for the course of study at Regis University and demonstrate adequate coverage for health insurance in the United States for issuance of an I-20 by the Office of the Registrar.
