Testimonials

Regis University's Transition Doctor of Physical Therapy program offers online courses in convenient 8-week terms. Students also typically complete three to four weekend intensives during the program.

Here's what current students are saying:

"Thank you for the Transition DPT at Regis University. I cannot say enough about how much I appreciate the attitude, the offerings, the openness, support ,and, of course, education. The plus is the faculty and support staff. This is the richest educational experience I have ever had and I have had many. I am a voice for Regis and the program and I am so grateful I found my way or was led to Regis. I have a lot to thank you for in this program as it has revitalized my career and in many ways my life. It turns out that I WAS one of those PTs that needed to be brought up to date in many ways. My career had been long, successful, and satisfying, but I was having the feeling that me and my career needed rejuvenation. This program and, particularly, the people and staff involved have lifted me to a new place of enthusiasm, involvement, drive for my profession and career. "
~ Carol Fleming, BS, PT - Current Regis University Transition DPT Student

"I learned of the Transition DPT program at Regis through the APTA's website. I had decided to pursue my DPT and was comparing schools with regards to several factors: online vs. classroom, cost, location, curriculum, reputation, etc. Regis had all the characteristics I was looking for: flexibility to work with my home and work schedules, classes that would challenge me to learn, and a reputation that said my degree would be worthwhile. I am enjoying my first course and am looking forward to future classes!"
~ Martha Harris, Current Student, Started her first Transition DPT course May 5, 2008

You will have the opportunity to interact with some of the top researchers in the field of physical therapy during your time in the program and beyond. All of the instructors are approachable and vested in ensuring your success in the program. After having completed the program myself, and having previous experience with other physical therapy academic institutions, I can say that there is no place like Regis University. You will not be disappointed in choosing Regis to further your physical therapy professional career."
~ Bryan Dennison, Regis TDPT Graduate and Current Fellowship in Manual Therapy Student

The weekend intensives associated with the online courses are such a valuable part of my experience so far with Regis. The chance to listen and learn from some of our profession’s leaders is something that I can’t really put a value on. To hear Tim Flynn talk about his thoughts on chronic pain, to see how he finesses his mobilization and manipulation techniques are things you can not learn on-line or from a text. And the chance to be in a classroom and interact with such dedicated and motivated therapists from all over the US was more than fun!

"The Transition DPT through Regis University has been the best thing for my career to date! The professors are a true inspiration through their personally published physical therapy research and their leadership roles within our national organizations. The diversity of colleagues (some right out of a masters program, some with 20+ years in the profession and families of their own, and some with well recognized research/teaching backgrounds) has provided me with the confidence and humility to be the best practitioner I can be; providing a mutual learning experience for all. With a Fellowship in Manual Physical Therapy offered as part of the curriculum, Regis has created the perfect rounded educational experience to guide each of us to become the clinician that APTA spells out in its 2020 goals."

DPT741 (Management of Lumbopelvic Disorders) and the weekend intensive was a great experience. It gave me the opportunity to learn the latest research and EBP concepts, and then apply manual therapy mobilization and manipulation skills with my fellow tDPT classmates. Meeting your virtual classmates in person can’t be beat, and spending time with Dr. Tim Flynn, Dr. Cameron McDonald, and the Regis Fellows made the weekend intensive an excellent learning experience.
~ Clebert LeBlanc, PT, Current TDPT Student, quoted May 2009)

"This course has been great for me and has already re-charged my battery for our profession! I have appreciated the professional discussions. It is truly amazing how an ONLINE course can bring therapists together from all corners of the US to learn and grow personally and professionally."

"Thanks to Regis University’s Transition DPT program my fire has been lit regarding evidence-based practice. Where it's leading I can't say for sure, but I have four colleagues asking probing questions about Regis University’s program so something is already happening.

I intend on introducing my staff (10 therapists, 7 assistants) to EBP this year and have it installed on performance appraisals next year. I'm proposing a 'makeover' of our intake questionnaire replacing some of our questions with one or more of the inventory tools (Oswestry, Fear Avoidance, etc) which have similar questions but are standardized—so the info means something. I'm also nudging one of my staff toward leading an EBP journal club. We have an opportunity to present a CE session to physicians this summer. Several recent articles are swirling through my congested brain.

I'm re-shaping my clinic--hopefully, impacting our entire rehab department—and establishing my staff as a resource for the physicians. Ambitious perhaps, but I think that's where I'm headed. Rather than being cowed by the volume of new information, I find myself energized.

Those of you who are finishing the program intimidated the heck out of me week one with ready citations, but also motivated me to strive to be like you by the time I'm finished. Thanks--for the latter!

This program has really ignited me!"

"Thank-you to the phenomenal instructors and also to my fellow classmates for creating an exceptional learning experience."

"I don’t want to sound too dramatic, but this weekend caused a turning point in my career. I’m actually looking forward to going to work and seeing back patients! I’m not sure I could ever have said that in the past ten years. My job satisfaction – and therefore my quality of life – has improved ten-fold through this education. Where there once was chaos, now there is order. I’ve seen the truth and it has set me free! Hallelujah!"

"This weekend reconfirmed my thoughts on Regis University and the exceptional faculty and students involved in the program. I feel lucky to be part of this group that is driving the research and promotion of what we do in physical therapy."

"I really enjoyed this weekend course and was able to take so much from it. To sum up, I have not had any difficulties utilizing these techniques. I look forward to future courses involving this much preparation by the teachers and research."

"I feel very fortunate to have participated in such a wonderful learning experience last weekend, and have gained a whole new respect for the professionals out there committed to moving our profession forward. This weekend as well as this course has redefined how I perceive my role as a physical therapist. The DPT program has been an incredible growing experience, and after this weekend I feel like my clinical practice has been elevated to another level. My objectives for the weekend were met and exceeded and I have a deeper understanding and confidence that I had not previously experienced."

"This is my third course with Regis University. I am enrolled with Regis as a part of a wonderful company supported program with the Kentucky Orthopedic Rehab Team, or better known just as KORT, that funds my and other employees' education for the DPT. Larry Benz, our CEO, could not have made a better decision to go with Regis. I have been overwhelmingly pleased with the faculty and its associates, the online approach to education, and the clinical benefit that I am already realizing . And no, I am not spewing sunshine, just stating how I really feel. Look forward to old friends and to new ones!"

After acceptance into Regis University’s Transition DPT program I was astounded by the ardent faculty and their tireless professionalism. They represent the veridical illustration of what it means to be a physical therapist. With evidence based medicine at the forefront of their teaching, you attain the essential skills necessary for achieving APTA’s Vision 2020. The weekend intensives are salient demonstrations of these skills. Not only do I feel privileged to be a student at Regis University; I’m proud knowing one day I will be part of the alumni.
