Transition Doctor of Physical Therapy (Transition DPT)

Practicing clinician? Busy professional? Fitting in the necessary courses to advance your career can be tough. If you are a U.S. licensed physical therapist, Regis' Transition Doctor of Physical Therapy (Transition DPT) program is designed to enable you to advance your career to the doctoral level.

All courses in the Transition DPT program are offered online, making it a flexible and easy way to move forward. In addition, a few courses have a weekend component on campus. During weekend intensives, students learn clinically-relevant testing and evaluation procedures, interact in small groups, and share their unique clinical experiences. Each course is offered in an eight-week format. Students can take courses every eight weeks, or opt to take an eight week term off. This program can fit your current work/life schedule.

Baccalaureate-prepared, licensed PT's can complete the program taking twelve to fifteen courses and master's-prepared, licensed PT's can complete the program taking nine to eleven courses, depending on prior experience.

Regis' Transition DPT program is consistent with guidelines set by the APTA and offers courses highly relevant to advanced clinical practice. Topics include pharmacology, radiology, differential diagnosis, advanced clinical decision-making, health and wellness promotion and advanced clinical management. Content is presented from an evidence-based practice perspective, allowing you to apply the most current and relevant medical literature to individual patient management decisions on a daily basis.

With students from New York to Washington, with one year of experience to over 30 years of experience, practicing as staff therapists in hospitals, to private practice owners, the diversity of the clinicians in our program is tremendous. They all come together with a desire to collaborate in a learning process that advances clinical skills and decision-making. These clinicians consistently state that the Transition DPT program has enhanced their knowledge and skills, broadened their clinical perspective, and invigorated their passion for the profession.
