Join us for the inaugural half-day conference STEPS Symposium. This symposium is free and open to the public but space is limited and you must register here.
Sponsored by the College of Business Regis University, Rotary District 5450, Acton Institute, & the Global Poverty Class in Regis College, this symposium will showcase student learning and explore proven solutions to end poverty. The goal is to bridge academic learning and community action by bringing together students, scholars, and NGOs working on innovative actions to end global poverty. Students have been researching poverty in different parts of the world. This is an opportunity for them to engage with others working on this important issue.
Student, Aidan Diffee, is excited to share his research with symposium attendees because as he states, “...what we are doing to address global poverty is set apart from other research in that students work with an “in country” mentor and work through real solutions that ask what really needs to be done to impact change.”
Says Valeria Zepeda Rodiguez, another student presenting at the symposium, “everyone is focused on separate countries and researching the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); which are a significant investment in global change. My team is working on Affordable energy in Cambodia.”
The symposium will feature a keynote speech by M.D. Kinoti, PhD, Associate Professor, Rotarian, and Economic Development expert. It will also include student research and presentations as well as a panel of Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) experts.
