Innovation Center announces finalists for 3rd annual Regis Innovation Challenge

Finalists will pitch to a panel of judges on April 17, 2020

The Anderson College of Business at Regis University hosts the annual Regis Innovation Challenge to bring student, staff, alumni and community business ideas to reality.

Teams that included graduate and undergraduate students representing the Anderson College of Business, Regis College, the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions and the College of Computer and Information Sciences vied for a spot in this year’s finals.

Seven finalists were selected by a panel of judges during the semifinal round the Challenge held Dec. 9-11. Each idea was judged by how desirable the business was, how the concept solved a customer need, and how likely the solution would be to succeed with its team and business model.

The following seven teams will continue into the final round of the Innovation Challenge:

A Better Foundation: A one-stop shop for credit repair, debt consolidation, lending and real estate focused on breaking down barriers to help more people become home buyers.

Earth Bottle Co.: A full-service co-packer that makes, labels, fills, sanitizes and distributes recycled glass bottles filled with your favorite products.

Parking App: Simplifies parking by using existing technologies to identify empty parking spots.

She-Bra: A whole new way to support "the girls" and the earth!

Car Bar: Provides customized, quality drinks and catering packages delivered to customers' front doors.

xCaliber Trading: A research and development company dedicated to reducing barriers to allow individuals to access and profitably trade on the currency market.

Power Pops Protein: A protein snack designed for anytime use.

The finalists will compete for more than $17,000 in cash and prizes and co-working space in the Innovation Center. All finalists also will receive three months of mentoring from Anderson College of Business faculty, Regis alumni, and community business people.

The final competition will be held at 7 p.m., April 17, in the Mountain View Center in St. Peter Claver, S.J., Hall on Regis University’s Northwest Denver Campus.

Finalists will pitch to a panel of judges including college namesake Andy Anderson, and the winners will be selected by a combination of judges and audience votes in real-time. The event is open to the public.
