The Health Care Business Management Graduate Academic Certificate
focuses on developing skills that will enhance your ability within the health care environment and the knowledge of how to manage in health care systems to be the proprietor of health care practice, including pharmacy.
Students can earn this certificate by completing four required graduate courses from the list below. Three of the four courses below can be applied towards Pharm.D. electives. The below courses are offered online in 8-week terms throughout the year. While this certificate and the Pharm.D. degree can be earned concurrently, students have the option to complete this certificate at their own pace.
Four of the following classes must be completed in order to earn this certificate:
HCE 600 –
Organizational Ethics and Health Care Compliance (3 credit hours)
HSA 601 –
Leadership and Organization Development in Health Services (3 credit hours)
HSA 602 –
Organizational Planning and Development (3 credit hours)
HSA 620 –
Marketing and Public Relations in Health Care Settings (3 credit hours)
HSA 624 –
Assessment of Quality Care and Patient Safety (3 credit hours)
HSA 630 –
Medical Practice Management (3 credit hours)
HSI 650 –
Health Care Informatics and Information Systems (3 credit hours)
HSA 652 –
Human Resources in the Health Care Setting (3 credit hours)
HSA 663 –
Advanced Concepts of Health Care Finance (3 credit hours)
The HCE 600 requirement can be satisfied with HCE 742. The HSA 601 requirement can be satisfied with PHRM 732. HCE 742 and PHRM 732 are both required for the completion of the Pharm.D. degree.
