Academic Accommodations

Academic accommodations are adjustments designed to remove barriers due to a disability and promote access within your classes. Accommodations do not alter the expectations of a course or change the course content. They can support your ability to learn and demonstrate your knowledge by removing obstacles.

Common Examples of Academic Accommodations include:*

  • Extended time on exams
  • Course materials and textbooks converted to an alternate format (e.g., digital or braille)
  • Text-to-speech software

Housing Accommodations

Regis University recognizes the importance of individuals with disabilities participating fully in the University housing program. Housing accommodations are provided to ensure students with disabilities have an equitable experience in university housing. Student Disability Services (SDS) considers student housing accommodation requests. However, SDS does not determine specific room or residence hall assignments.

Common examples of housing accommodations include:*

  • Accessible room
  • Single room - disability/medical need
  • Emotional Support Animal (ESA)
Note: ESAs must be approved as an accommodation before they can be housed on campus.
