Student Well-Being
Taking Care of the Whole You
College is one of the most formative experiences of your life, and at Regis, how you experience it matters as much as what you achieve. Well-being here isn't an afterthought or a checkbox. It's woven into how the University thinks about students, rooted in the same Jesuit belief that shaped everything else: That you are worth caring for as a whole person, not just as a student. From mental health support and medical care to recreation, community and spiritual life, there are people and resources here for all of it.
Cura Personalis: A Commitment to the Whole Person
Cura personalis means "care for the whole person."
In practice at Regis, that means a professor who notices when something seems off. A counselor available when you need to talk. A community that celebrates more than your GPA. It's a small phrase for something that shows up in a lot of ways, and it's part of what makes Regis feel different from the moment you arrive.
Health Care On Demand
Staying healthy looks different for everyone, and Regis has resources to support you however that shows up. Medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy services are all available through Tepeyac, a comprehensive care clinic conveniently located for students.
Regis Behavioral Health offers counseling and mental health support at no cost to eligible Regis students. Appointments are available during the week and into the evening, on campus or virtually. Use them for the big moments or the everyday ones. They're here for both.
Getting Ready for Your First Year
A smooth start to the semester begins with a few simple steps. Before classes begin, you'll want to submit any required immunization records and check whether your program has specific health insurance requirements. Getting these in order early means you'll have full access to campus health services from day one.
Submit Required Immunization Records
Students are required to submit immunization records before starting classes. Review what's needed and upload your documentation by the deadline to make sure everything is in order before the semester begins. If you have questions or are missing records, the health services team is happy to help you work through it.
Health Insurance: Requirements Vary by Program
Some programs at Regis require students to show proof of health insurance before starting. Check with your program directly to find out whether this applies to you and what documentation you'll need to provide.
Move, Play and Recharge
The Recreation Center is your home base for staying active, blowing off steam and spending time with others. Stop by the Fitness Center for a workout, hit the climbing wall or catch up with people between classes. Drop in when you need it or build it into your routine.
Outdoor Adventure Program
Colorado is essentially your backyard at Regis, and the Outdoor Adventure Program makes the most of it. Trips into the mountains, outdoor experiences and adventures beyond campus give you a genuine way to decompress and explore.
Recreational Sports
From intramural leagues to club sports, recreational athletics at Regis are designed for everyone, not just seasoned athletes. Pick up a sport you know or try something you've never played before.
RegisCARES Clinic
For physical therapy, injury recovery or one-on-one personal training, RegisCARES is available right on campus. The clinic is staffed by licensed physical therapists who also serve as Regis faculty, with personal trainers from Regis's own health and exercise science programs.
Simone Bisen, '26, M.S. Information SystemsRegis University has exceeded my expectations in many ways. The sense of community here is incredible – it truly feels like a second family. From the first day, I was welcomed warmly, and that support has been consistent throughout my time here. The faculty members are deeply invested in student success. They create an engaging and interactive learning environment, which makes the material not only accessible but also exciting.
Spiritual Connections
Spiritual life at Regis is less about having answers and more about having space to reflect, to question and to connect with something larger than the day-to-day. Rooted in the Jesuit tradition of open inquiry, University Ministry welcomes students of all faiths and none, with opportunities for worship, conversation, service and quiet. Whatever your relationship with spirituality looks like, there’s room for it here.
Support for Reflection, Meaning and Purpose
Some of the conversations that stay with you longest happen outside the classroom and are about who you are, what you believe and what kind of life you want to live. University Ministry creates space for exactly that. Retreats, service, community gatherings and campus traditions give you different ways to engage, but the thread running through all of it is the same: a genuine invitation to slow down, ask the big questions and find community with people doing the same.
Academic and Everyday Support Resources
Student Success and Student Resources are here to help you navigate the day-to-day side of college and build skills that support your progress over time. Connect with tools, guidance and people who can help you stay on track and make informed decisions.
These resources work alongside well-being resources to support your overall experience.
General Well-Being FAQs
How much do medical health services cost?
Medical services are available through Tepeyac Community Health Center, located near campus, with costs that vary depending on the type of care you need.
Your health insurance will typically apply toward these services, so knowing your coverage ahead of time can help you plan. Visit the Medical Services page for current details on what’s available and how to access care.
What should I do if I’m worried about a friend?
Start by checking in with them and letting them know you care. That alone can make a real difference.
You don’t have to have all the answers or handle it on your own. If you’re concerned, reach out to someone you trust on campus: a resident assistant, a faculty member, a coach or any staff member who knows you. They can help you think through how to best support your friend and connect them with the right resources.
Depending on what your friend is going through, these offices are also here to help:
- Regis Behavioral Health: Counseling and mental health support
- Victim Advocacy and Violence Prevention (VAVP): Confidential support for survivors of assault, violence, stalking and harassment
- Title IX Office: Resources and reporting options for discrimination and sexual misconduct
- University Ministry: A confidential space for conversation, support and reflection
How do I get involved with intramural sports?
Sign up through the Recreation Center, where you’ll find current leagues, schedules and everything you need to join a team. Some sports follow a set season while others are more drop-in friendly, so there’s usually something that fits your schedule regardless of how busy things get.
