Recreational Sports

Living our core Jesuit value of cura personalis means that we understand the importance of nurturing the mind, body and spirit, and we believe that participation in team sports grows all three! Individuals who join team sports develop their bodies through physical activity, and they also develop leadership and collaboration skills while forming relationships in the community. Recreational Sports at Regis offers two opportunities to engage in team sports: Club Sports for the classic competitive college sports experience, and Intramural Sports for a less-competitive way for seasoned athletes and novices alike to get moving with others. There is something for everyone in Regis Recreational Sports! Questions? Contact us at recsports@regis.edu.

Club Sports

Club Sports teams include: Climbing, Cycling, Men’s Club Rugby, Men’s Club Soccer, Spirit (Dance/Cheer), Women's Volleyball and Women’s Club Soccer.

Intramural Sports

Intramurals are a social way for Regis students, faculty and staff to be active through a recreational experience, regardless of skill level. Intramural offerings at Regis range from flag football, wiffleball and basketball, to dodgeball, grass volleyball, billiards and even sports trivia.

Our Mission

The Intramural Sports Program is committed to fostering good sportsmanship and healthy lifestyle choices in our community. We believe that cura personalis, care of the whole person, must extend outside of the classroom. In keeping with this idea, we strive to provide all students, faculty and staff with the opportunity to nurture their character, pursue physical fitness and make intelligent decisions within a competitive recreational environment. In pursuit of these goals, Intramural Sports is dedicated to providing a broad range of quality recreational programs designed to meet the diverse athletic needs of the Regis University student population. It is our belief that participation in Intramural Sports at Regis University, whether it be Flag Football in the fall or Ultimate Frisbee in the spring, will enhance the student experience in the following ways:

  • Provide an opportunity to develop life-long leadership skills.
  • Teach participants to work within teams and build relationships.
  • Provide student leaders and organizations a means of developing community within their organizations and residence hall floors.
  • Offer participants the opportunity to encourage and challenge themselves and one another.
  • Help players improve both their physical and mental well-being.
  • Encourage the development of new skills and competencies.
  • Introduce participants, especially our students, to activities that will serve them throughout their lifetimes.
