Denver artist features unique representation of contemporary issues
June 11, 2019
Regis University opens its Northwest Denver Campus art gallery to Regis alumna and Denver artist Suzi Melly for a month beginning June 11. An opening reception will be 6 to 9 p.m. June 14.
The show runs through July 14 at the O’Sullivan Art Gallery at 3333 Regis Blvd. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and open 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays.
All O’Sullivan Art Gallery exhibitions are free and open to the public.
Melly’s work combines jewelry, fashion and photography to highlight the historical importance of the craft while focusing on contemporary issues. Melly’s artwork recently has been shown in local Denver art galleries, and one of her mobile phone images won the “People’s Choice Award” at the Gallery NRC Mobile Phone Image Juried Exhibition.
