Elaine Marino, founder and CEO of Equili, a company that creates and runs tech programs, will be the conference’s keynote speaker. She will discuss how inclusion is different than diversity and how inclusion benefits organizations and women.

Other presenting speakers include industry experts and researchers who will identify the key actions needed to ensure that women are seen as important contributing members of an organization.

“While we know that diversity and inclusion are important and beneficial for organizations, we still see women lagging behind men at most levels of organizations,” said Maria Alejandra Quijada, an associate professor in the Anderson College of Business and the conference organizer.

“The conference will provide insights for both organizations and individuals on how to create inclusion, especially for women and women of color, so that the benefits of diversity can be truly felt,” she said.

The conference also will include a discussion about effective ways to handle offensive comments in the workplace.

The conference, which will be held in the recital hall at St. Peter Claver, S. J., Hall, is sponsored by Regis’ Women’s and Gender Studies Program and the WELL (Workforce, Ethics and Lifelong Learning) Center at the Anderson College of Business.

This is the third annual conference and last year about 75 people attended.
