SHOW SUMMARY

THE ADDAMS FAMILY features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents.

He wants to thank his family for being supportive and Prozac for always being there for him.

Celia Salazar (Morticia Gomez) Celia is a senior majoring in Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance. After she graduates, she plans on exploring and immersing herself in musical theatre by seeing shows and auditioning all over the Denver area. Past credits include: Anne Frank (Anne Frank and Me), Hodel (Fiddler on the Roof), Hope Cladwell (Urinetown), and Hero (Much Ado About Nothing). She has performed in the operettas Ruddigore (Denver Lyric Players) and The Pirates of Penzance (Green Room Theatre Company.) This is her fourth and final show with Ramblers and she is extremely grateful for the memories and relationships she's made through this wonderful club. All of the most important ones happened here. She wants to thank Rich, Lisa and Emily from the bottom of her heart for their guidance during the run of this show. Thank you for trusting her and for giving her the chance to play (the singing version) of one of her childhood icons.

Clyde Johnson (Uncle Fester) Clyde is a junior and is thrilled to be doing his second go-around in The Addams Family, this time portraying Uncle Fester, a role that has allowed him to fulfill his high school senior superlative of “Most Likely to Go to The Moon”. He is currently studying Health and Exercise Science with a minor in Music: Vocal Performance which have yet to fail to keep him busy. Prior credits include Ferdinand in the St. Pelagia Players production of The Tempest, Bobby Strong and Hugo Peabody in The Regis Ramblers productions of Urinetown and Bye Bye Birdie, respectively. Production Team

Rich Cadwallader (Director) Rich has performed professionally in the Denver area for over ten years, most recently appearing in Bye Bye Birdie with Performance Now – He couldn’t get enough after directing the Ramblers show… Previously, he performed in the Henry Award: Best Musical nominees Guys and Dolls and The Producers, both at Littleton Town Hall Arts Center. This is his twelfth production with the Ramblers, starting with 2001’s Camelot. He performed opposite the lovely Lisa Arling (now Cadwallader) in The Ramblers’ Guys and Dolls (2002) and South Pacific (2003.) He’s still pretty darn smitten both with her and with their kids Neva (5) and Joey (3).

Lisa Cadwallader (Choreographer) Club founders Shannan Steele and Dr. Dennis Steele, along with the invaluable Dave Law, have allowed Lisa to be involved with the Ramblers organization in one way or another since 1999, which equals 19 of the now total 23 shows Ramblers have performed! Whether onstage, serving as club president, helping with makeup, contributing to casting decisions, teaching and polishing choreography, or assisting directing, Lisa cannot tear herself away from a group with so much heart. Elementary Literacy Interventionist teacher by day, she is honored that she gets to spend evenings and weekends helping to create such a spectacular show. She is infinitely grateful for all the love and support from her husband, Rich, whose abundant talent has brought The Addams Family to life in the Mountain View room of Claver Hall! She would also like to thank the amazingly creative Emily Eliott for her time, energy, and ideas. A million thanks to the current group of INCREDIBLE Ramblers for their positivity, commitment, effort, patience, and the kindness they have shown at rehearsals towards the Cadwallader children, Neva and Joey, who are sure to follow in their parents’ footsteps as Ramblers Presidents 2034-35 and 2035-36. Who knows? They might even be directing and choreographing the group 23 shows from now! Last, but not least, infinite thanks to our family members for their babysitting and their unending belief in us.

Emily Elliott (Co-Choreographer) is so grateful to continue her Rambler’s journey with Urinetown: The Musical! Emily found Ramblers her junior year at Regis and fell in love with the club through Legally Blonde and The Drowsy Chaperone. In 2015 she graduated magna cum laude with an English degree but just couldn’t stay away from Ramblers. As such, she is thrilled to get a chance to be a part of the directing team this year and has particularly enjoyed helping with the choreography and being the not-so-official timekeeper to keep rehearsals running on schedule. In addition to Ramblers, Emily is a fourth grade paraprofessional and middle school drama teacher at Cesar Chavez Academy and is pursuing her graduate degree through Regis’ counseling program. She would like to thank Lisa and Rich for late night choreography sessions and for their mentorship, and of course her Ramblers family for constantly amazing her with their talent, work ethic, and friendship.

D.J. Himstedt (Musical Director)
DJ is, in real life, a private investigator, attorney, retired fire chief and college instructor, but spends much of his time involved in music theater as a performer, keyboard artist, and musical director.  Recent projects include performances in Spamalot with the Evergreen Players, Something’s Afoot with StageDoor Theatre,  Pippin with Evergreen High School, Annie Jr. with the Evergreen Children’s Chorale, and an upcoming production of Nine to Five with the Evergreen Players.  Working with the Ramblers has been a real treat!  Thanks for the opportunity!

The Regis Ramblers

The Regis Ramblers is an all-inclusive musical theater club - casting and welcoming any students who express an interest in being involved in a production.  Student led and run, and managed by the Office of Student Activities, annual participation in the club tops 50 students.  In addition to cast members, the Regis Ramblers now includes a thriving technical crew comprised of skilled students who contribute their stagecraft expertise in lighting, sound, set design, props and all of the other areas critical to making a large scale musical production happen.  While students of all academic interests and majors make up the core of the production, the program has benefited from the continued growth of Regis' music department and the continued improvement of performance space that has come with that growth.

As alumni can attest, the Ramblers are proud of their ability to perform at a high level through a variety of challenging venues on the Regis campus, starting with the Science Amphitheater and continuing on for several years in the Student Center Dining Hall.  Beginning with the 2012-13 academic year the Ramblers are eager to perform in the beautiful new Mountain View Room in Claver Hall.

The Regis Ramblers look forward to many more years of providing musical theater entertainment for the Regis community and the Metro-Denver Community.

Where it all Began

The Regis Ramblers musical theater club was started in the fall of 1995, by Regis computer science professor Dr. Dennis Steele and his daughter, Shannan.  Shannan at that time was a student at Regis, and together they began what has become an important piece of the Regis experience for hundreds of students and alumni.  In the spring of 1996, the Ramblers performed their first musical to a sold out audience..."Li'l Abner".  The following years would bring new challenges, teamwork, and a collection of Ramblers alumni who have continued to support and be entertained by the thriving club to which they once belonged.

Since its beginning, Dr. Steele has been, and remains, the backbone of the club, continuing in the role of faculty sponsor. He has contributed as a music director, band member, set builder, and overall source of support for each and every production.  Shannan Steele has choreographed all but two of the annual productions and has served as director/choreographer/vocal music director for the majority of the shows Ramblers has produced. Shannan is a professional actress in the Denver area, starring in award winning productions at the Arvada Center and at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
