Cora Crisman

Cora Crisman teaches Applied Flute and directs the Chamber Wind Ensemble at Regis University. In addition, she is a flutist who enjoys a vibrant and varied career as a performer and teaching artist. She performs regularly with the Colorado Symphony, Colorado Ballet Orchestra, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and the Boulder Philharmonic, among others in Colorado. She has also performed with the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra in Houston and the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra in Wyoming. Cora is a founding member of the woodwind quintet The Five Seasons, with whom she performs frequently across Colorado and Wyoming. She holds the Second Flute position with the Denver Municipal Band.

A passionate music educator, Cora regularly performs in outreach concerts through Colorado Symphony’s Petite Musique program as well as Englewood Arts Symphony Spotlight, engaging young students in interactive performances with orchestral instruments. She has been a teacher and curriculum writer for integrative educational nonprofit Integral Steps, a Teaching Artist with the Very Young Composers program, and an instructor for the outreach programs through the Colorado Youth Symphony Orchestras. She coaches sectionals statewide for youth orchestras and band programs, and maintains an active private studio in Denver. Cora holds a BM from Ithaca College School of Music in New York and a MA from the Royal Academy of Music in London.
