Mentor Statement
As a faculty mentor, my goals are to help writers generate new material, develop and learn about their deeper subject matter, and continue to use critical analysis skills to see how stories, novels, and essays are made.
As a teacher, I help writers develop and sustain a writing practice, offering honest and encouraging feedback. I want to ask you the right questions that help you find solutions to your writing challenges and feel energized to get back to the page.
Together we will look at building emotional complexity, creating multiple characters, applying research, developing a nuanced world, and utilizing a structure that works for the story or essay you find yourself writing.
