Dr. Reinking is the former Dean of the School of Physical Therapy. He has over 30 years of experience in clinical practice and education. He received his MSPT from the University of Indianapolis in 1988 and his Ph.D. from Saint Louis University in 2004. He is a licensed physical therapist and a certified athletic trainer, and was board certified in 1996 as a clinical specialist in sports physical therapy, recertifying in 2009 and 2016.
Dr. Reinking’s primary area of practice and research is athletic rehabilitation. He has over thirty peer-reviewed publications and has presented nationally and internationally.
Dr. Reinking is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the National Athletic Trainers Association. He is the recipient of several teaching awards, including the 2012 APTA Baethke-Carlin Award for Excellence in Academic Teaching, the 2014 Lifetime Excellence in Education Award from the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy (AASPT), the 2020 AASPT Turner A. Blackburn Hall of Fame/Lifetime Achievement Award, and was elected as an APTA Catherine Worthingham Fellow in 2020. Dr. Reinking served as the vice-president of the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy (ACAPT) from 2016-19, and was elected as ACAPT president in October 2020. Dr. Reinking also served on the Center for African American Health board in Denver, Colorado.
