Adekemi Ekanoye

Dr. Adekemi Ekanoye is an Assistant Professor of Department of Counseling, School of Mental and Behavioral Health at Regis University. She earned her doctorate from the University of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and Louisiana Counseling Association. She is a Nigerian by birth and perceive life through a collectivist lens. Dr. Adekemi's research interests include international students' mental health and help seeking decision, social justice and advocacy, counselor cultural responsiveness, migrants and trauma, and cultural identity. She has worked with diverse students in different capacities as well as counseling clients. She continues to be aware of the role culture plays in individual life and experiences. She is a wife, a mom to three children.
