Dr. Lara Narcisi holds degrees in English from Yale and New York University. Her areas of specialization are 20th-21stCentury American Literature, Race and Gender Studies, and Literary Theory. She has given presentations at the MLA and ALA conventions, and at conferences at Oxford University and Kings College, London. Her essays appear in journals such asMELUSandJMMLA, and her recent book chapters appear inAmerican Indians and Popular Culture,Critical Insights: Kurt Vonnegut,andPassing While “Post-Racial”: Performance and Identity Production in Neo-Passing Narratives.
Dr. Narcisi teaches such classes asFaulkner, Race and Gender in American Culture, Freaks and Geeks: The Abnormal in Contemporary Literature, U.S. Women Writers of Color, Contemporary African American Lit,andLiterature of the Atomic Age. She was most honored to receive the Golden Dozen Outstanding Teaching Award (all faculty, university-wide) at New York University, and the 2019 Faculty Lecturer of the Year award at Regis.
