Missy Mooney

Having worked as a Nurse Practitioner in the hospital setting for 18 years prior to coming on as faculty, Missy finds her teaching philosophy is to use examples and case studies as an integral part of time in the classroom and lab. Through these experiences, opportunities are available to bridge the knowledge learned and application, whether it be in the lab (skill or simulation) or clinical setting.

The Jesuit values and Regis’ mission aide in providing a framework in which Missy chooses to live her life, and in turn, be an example for students, faculty and those in her personal life. Within Missy's professional journey, she is able to bring that framework into the classroom, which consists of developing rapport and relationships that will enhance an environment for academic learning and personal growth. Through this approach, Missy feels the Regis student has the opportunity to be a “whole person” and be prepared and successful within their chosen career path.
