Michael D. Bodman is a Lecturer in Economics and Finance at the Anderson College of Business and Computing of Regis University. As Founder and President of Open Source Ventures LLC — an investment company specializing in blockchain technology and digital assets — he is a business owner based in Denver, Colorado. His thesis is that blockchain represents a new computing platform and investable asset class that is developing a better internet and a digital economic system with a more level playing field than traditional socio-economic systems. He conducts applied economic and financial research and invests in blockchain solutions that transform traditional industries via open, decentralized, and permissionless software. His mission is to support business innovation, financial agency and inclusion, and privacy. A former economic policy officer in the Office of International Aviation of the U.S. Department of Transportation, he served overseas in the U.S. Peace Corps as a teacher in the northern region of Thailand.
